astaxanthin

Astaxanthin, a type of carotenoid, is a strong natural antioxidant. Like other carotenoids, astaxanthin is a fat-soluble and water-soluble pigment found in shrimp, crab, salmon, algae, and other marine organisms.

Haematococcus pluvialis is recognized as an excellent source of natural astaxanthin in nature. Astaxanthin has a strong antioxidant capacity, 550 times that of vitamin E and 10 times that of beta-carotene.

Efficacy of astaxanthin:

1. Protect the eyes and central nervous system

Studies have shown that astaxanthin easily passes through the blood-brain barrier and cell membrane, and can effectively prevent retinal oxidation and photoreceptor cell damage, especially in macular degeneration, which is more significant than lutein.

2. Anti-ultraviolet radiation

Ultraviolet radiation is an important cause of epidermal photoaging and skin cancer, and the strong antioxidant properties of astaxanthin may make it a potential photo protectant, effectively scavenging free radicals that cause skin aging.

3. Enhance immunity

Astaxanthin can significantly affect the immune function of animals. In the presence of antigens, it can significantly promote the ability of spleen cells to produce antibodies, enhance the effect of T cells, and stimulate the production of immunoglobulins in the body.
