SODIUM CITRATE 99%

Introduction

Sodium citrate, also known as sodium citrate, has a chemical formula of C6H5Na3O7 and a molecular weight of 258.07. It is an organic compound with colorless orthorhombic columnar crystals, stable in the air, soluble in water and glycerin, slightly soluble in ethanol . The aqueous solution is slightly alkaline and has a cooling sensation when tasted. It becomes dihydrate salt when heated to 100°C. It is often used as a buffer, complexing agent, and bacterial culture medium. It is used in medicine for diuresis, expectoration, sweating, preventing blood coagulation, and used in food, beverages, electroplating, photography, etc.

Functions

1. Sodium citrate is the most important citrate. It is mainly produced by fermenting starch materials to produce citric acid, and then neutralizing them with alkali materials. It has a variety of unique and excellent properties.

2. Sodium citrate has good complexing ability to Ca2+, Mg2+ and other metal ions, and it also has good complexing ability to other metal ions, such as Fe2+ plasma.

3. Sodium citrate has excellent solubility, and the solubility increases with the increase of water temperature.

4. Sodium citrate has good pH adjustment and buffering properties. Sodium citrate is a weak acid and strong base salt.

It can be combined with citric acid to form a strong pH buffer, so it has important uses in some occasions that are not suitable for large-scale pH changes.

5. Sodium citrate also has excellent retarding performance and stability.
