Rice Phytoceramides 10:1 TLC
*is it ceramide?
First of all, let’s start with the structure of our skin. Our skin is mainly composed of epidermis, dermis and subcutaneous tissue. The epidermis has stratum corneum, transparent layer, granular layer, spinous layer and basal layer. Ceramides mainly exist in the stratum corneum, and the proportion is as high as 50%.
With increasing age and entering old age, the ceramides present in human skin will gradually decrease, which in turn causes wrinkles and some others.
Are ceramides effective for skin care?
High-efficiency moisturizing: Current related research shows that oral ceramides can help repair and improve the sebum membrane. ORYZA rice ceramides from Japan have been tested and shown that, compared with the control experimental group, taking 40 mg of ceramides daily for 6 weeks can reduce transepidermal water loss and increase skin water content. Notably, the FDA published an article proving the safety of oral phytoceramides (and related supplements).
In addition to moisturizing, ceramides have the following effects:
Barrier effect: The ceramide in the skin is sufficient to resist external stimuli, but if it is lacking or not, the skin loses its own natural protective effect, and has no defense ability against all external physical and biological damage. For example, the skin is more likely to be exposed to the sun, and the weather is cold and prone to redness, etc.
Function: This is a boon for thin-skinned children's shoes. Ceramides can help thicken the stratum corneum, improve the tolerance of the entire skin, prevent the intrusion of external harmful substances, avoid sensitivity, and have a repairing effect.
Synthetic pathway and mechanism of action of oral ceramide in vivo
After the oral ceramide is absorbed by the small intestine, it is transferred to the blood, and then transported to the whole body, which can promote the body's own biosynthesis of ceramide, so that the skin cells of the whole body can be well recovered and regenerated.
